Assignment
About
This is the assignment's page, where you set up the following:
-
Grading form: grading form to use for marking (see Grading forms)
-
Deadline: deadline for assignment submissions (for now it doesn't have any functional use)
-
Markers: you can split the marking to be shared between multiple markers, and the Marker allocation feature (see section below for details) allows you to easily do the allocation.
You can also see stats about the submissions, and set the assignment as hidden (see Hidden Assignments section in Assignments).
At the bottom you have the links for the Submissions dashboard, and the Export assignment marks feature (see section below for details).
Example assignment
Export assignment marks
This creates and downloads an Excel file with 2 sheets: marks & feedback
and marking notes
.
marks & feedback
: all marks and feedback given for each marking element of the currently set grading form. If you change the grading form, the previous marks remain in the database, but only the selected grading form's marks will be exported.
The spreadsheet rows are per submission / student and the columns are: marker, total marks, and then a pair of columns for the marks and the feedback for each marking element.
marking notes
: any notes by the markers for a marking element - this is not for the students, but are private notes made during marking for internal use.
The spreadsheet rows are per submission / student and the columns are: marker, total marks, and then a column for the notes for each marking element.
Marker allocation
This feature allows you to share the marking between markers, and do the allocation easily. You can automatically do a random allocation with equal split between the markers, or if you prefer you can use the manual allocation (mainly useful if you want to make changes after the automatic allocation).
Here's a preview of the page:
Firstly, you need to add the markers for the allocation process. Here we have added 2 markers, Alice and Bob:
Now you can do the allocation, manually or automatically.
Manual allocation will take you to a list with all the submissions where you can select the marker for each.
Random allocation sets the marker for each submission automatically, with equal share between the markers.
And here's how the allocation page looks after the allocation is done:
At the top you have the list of markers with the count of their allocated submissions, and at the bottom the list of all submissions with their allocated marker.
